Getting to Skaleta

Getting to Skaleta

A small seaside village on Crete's northern coast, about 12 km east of Rethymno: relaxed, sun-soaked, and ours for the weekend.

The Venue

Arbora Olea Luxury Resorts

Three villas tucked into a twelve-acre olive grove on Crete's northern coast, with infinity pools, sea views, and a warm nod to local tradition. This is where we'll say "I do."

See the Venue

By Plane

Chania Airport (CHQ) · ~1h 20 by car

Heraklion Airport (HER) · ~1h by car

Choose whichever connects best from home.

By Ferry

Direct links run from several Greek islands to Chania and Heraklion. Crossings take 8+ hours but make for a scenic route. Check schedules well ahead, as boats don't run year-round.

We recommend renting a car for the weekend: Crete's public transport is limited, and a car makes it easy to reach Skaleta and explore the island at your own pace. Let us know early if you'd like help coordinating a shared car or accommodation.

What to Expect: September in Crete

Early September is one of the best times to visit: the peak summer crowds have started to thin out as the new school year begins back home, but the weather is still reliably warm, dry, and sunny. Days are long, evenings are pleasantly mild, and the sea, after a whole summer to warm up, is at its best for swimming.

27–29°C Daytime Highs
24–25°C Sea Temperature
Rare Rain

These are typical seasonal averages, not a forecast — we'll share the actual outlook closer to the date.
